The Benefits to opening your data

Moving More is powered by open data. The power of open data means the classes listed will reach more people and it is also free advertising for your sessions. Open data is data that anyone can access, use and share. For sport and physical activity sessions this involves publishing open data about what, where and when activities are taking place to make it easier for people to find and book sessions around them. This data is likely to include session descriptions including locations, times, prices and availability but will never include personal or commercially sensitive details.

There are a few different ways you could list your classes to appear on the Activity Finder. Follow the instructions below to get your classes listed today!

Activity Providers

If you are an independent activity provider such as a coach or a instructor there are a couple of ways to list your classes on the Moving More Activity Finder:

If you use a booking system that isn't open data enabled and/or take offline bookings:

Add your classes to Open Sessions. Open Sessions enables you to post your group exercise classes and share this with potential customers local to you.

If your current booking system is Open Data enabled, (e.g Played, Classfinder etc):

Add your sessions in the same way you would any other class.

Not sure if your system is Open Data enabled? Check the list of booking operators who have opened their data.

Leisure Operators and Organisations

If you work for a leisure provider or organisation and use a booking system that is open data enabled (e.g. Gladstone or Legend) you may find that your class listing will automatically show on the Activity Finder.

If however your classes are not included in the search you may need to check with your IT team that you have been opted in to open your data.
